1. George asked if we wanted to handle a potential 10k project with animation required, need to travel as well.After some thought, we realised we cldn't handle it so we recommendeded yun fei to george.

2.George suggested that we go do an event coverage free for this exhibition which his friend invited him to go. The exhibition is an exclusive event and by invitation only. It will be an upper society socializing event and George is in the process of enquiring if we can crash the party.will keep us updated.Hopefully if everything goes well we can have our namecards printed by then.

chatted with huimin today and asked for her advice on setting up business blog.
Here's the summary.

Qn: How to create a business blog with nice skin and interactive functions?

Huimin:
Last time, blogspot enables user to customise their blogs with nice skins and functions. But now, this has been removed and newly created blogs only can have simple, plain background.

Solution:
She got a blog herself that is stil using the old interface and she might give it to us cuz she says she dun nid le. I also asked for her help in doing up the blog. But, I feel bad cuz she is not getting anything in return for doing.

updated myself with the blog,
reagarding George, I do nt thk we shd tell him about our plans and stuffs..

i see the collaboration with Creme more of an opportunity for us to learn before
we go full force on our own. Furthermore, we can tap into his contacts and build up our reputation along the way. Of course, we are nt gonna tell him that we will leave Creme eventually.

My recommendations:
1) Go ahead with the merger with George
2) Continue our own sourcing
3) Meanwhile, build contacts, setup blog, namecard
4) Venture into other potential areas like events coverage, funeral, camps, etc
5) Solidify our entire system of students edting, cameramen, etc

Final pt, pls update the Moartay calender with watever on coming shoots and stuffs so i can plan ahead too. For example, the 24 feb wedding shoot is a must go.

if u all noe who yu hong is, from njc i talked to him recently about weddings i'm doing and he's in charge of some engineering clubs in ntu as well...he said he might need some1 to cover all their events for long term he sounded keen but of cos he's lookin for budget solutions...he haven get back to me yet but that was about 2 wks ago...

looks like the last time i told you guys about gmail and google calendar and documents all gone down to waste...i urge you all to pay attention to this again and set up a gmail account...so that i can establish an effective communication system among ourselves...

george says there might be another wedding shoot on the 24th feb sunday so this time it'll be gd for you all to tag along for experience...

george, our foto agent jus called me and he's interested in a long term collaboration. the way we work now is that he charged for his photo and we charge for our video.i think for his side shd be around 600$-700$ for my side it's around 400$-500$. he said subsequently when we have gathered enough experience he will qoute both video and photo services as a package and charged around 2K for it, which means from this time on we are competing against the market with quality already, not jus budget solutions...so i urge you guys to be more serious in this really, try to put in more commitment if you still haven't see the potential...and be more involved...by that i mean be proactive and show initiative to ustd how the whole thing works, if not it'll be difficult for me to convince jingwei that it'll be beneficial to form a team instead of just the 2 of us working together...

i've told jingwei wat about the things goin on in bpghs liao, he express alot of concerns which i tot is worth considering...

1st he said it's nt very justified the whole thing if we look at the situation from a market point of view...
1st we are using the cca's equipment then we are using their human resources
the nature of the work that the students are doing should be paid much more....market rate as jw says

he said if this thing is publicised, tongues will start waggin as the students will be seen as being manipulated...i tot his concern is worth lookin into...

so tentatively i think the solution is to use lim's idea.bring money out of the picture totaly.instead of monetary incentives we give them something else instead, like sponsoring their cca t shirts, helpin them cover their school's event free, bringing in more equipment to the school etc....

since right now we are serious into doing this thing of utmost importance is communication...

there's this thing called google calendar and google document that i want to share with you guys.1st, calendar allows you to plan your own schedule and share it with others, so that we can easily plan for meetings subsequently..

google document works like microsoft word, only that all documents are stored online thus u dun have to carry the file around, in a harddrive or etc,and you can access the doc to make changes in any computer so long you are connected. and same thing i can just share with you and u can easily see my files(for eg the contact list and minutes).please create a gmail account and if you already have it, post it under comments or new post ty.i'll share my documents and calendar with you.

Visit to BPGHS

We visited the sch today. Have gotten 4 students, wen rong, bao yi, yi hao and chin wen to kick start the trial of the project. It had been decided that $50 will be given to them for each project that is done. $25 will be put into the club fund, and the remaining $25 will be split among the 2 of them. The task will be split into 2, whereby one will edit the morning portion, while the other will edit the night banquet portion. The dateline for the project is 3 weeks from the date when they are given the raw footages.

We have come to the consenses that 50% of the earnings we make will go into our company funds.

Upon our next assignment, we will introduce the flash animation aspect. Thus a team of animators would need to be gathered and trialed. Rate $200

For pre-wedding shoots, we require scripts as well as costumes and ideas that we can propose to customers. Rate $undecided

To include the theme of variety shows into the wedding video, with help of Motion, soundtrackpro, livetype and finalcutpro.

told mr lim abt the idea of setting up an underwater videography interest group in bpghs, maybe as a division in DMC. he said trina tay, the teacher ic-to-be, is a diving enthusiast.but he said water sports maybe it's more appropriate to talk to dragon boat.said we need some directions and goals as well.i was thinkin about exposing students to this form of sports at a secondary level, meaning subsequently we can be setting up clubs to all secondary schools.

to moses:this chap is a diving instructor, he has a full time air steward job and teach part time diving.he quite a lao jiao so i tot u might be keen to look into how we can make this happen with him.

met a guy called johnson during a wedding shoot yesterday.he's an air steward with SIA for 16 years and a part time diving instructor.his hobby is damn interesting.it's underwater videography.i thought i would want to share it here cuz he's keen to teach and expose more ppl to diving.i was suggestin to him about forming this underwater videography club thru bpghs video club, and he was really interested, adding that if money becomes a problem, he said it can be negotiated and talked through.a passion driven nice chap who is more keen to raise awareness to this form of hobby than money making.

we'll sub the corporate jobs for the students and they will be paid accordingly.the money will in turn be channelled to the club fund which can be used to further build up the resources in the club.so in a way it's like a cycle.the students gain industrial experience like internship programme(only that they use their club as a base) and we can utilise the resources in the club.the money goes back to the club in turn builds up the resources there.win win situation.(i hope my gibberish makes sense)
